Mr. Edward "Mr. Ed" Pullen, 82, retired employee of Ryder Truck Lines and resident of Neeley Hollow Road, died Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Hagewood officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday after 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Elijah Pullen and Lillie Ethel Hayes Pullen. On September 23, 1944, he married the former Margaret Christine Estes and they had just celebrated their 63rd Anniversary. Mr. Pullen was an avid gardener and bricklayer. He enjoyed socializing with his church friends and caring for the sick and needy. He was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ where he served as song leader for several years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry Pullen of Lewisburg; Mike Pullen of Columbia; three daughters, Phyllis (Tony) Endsley of Columbia; Tammy (Troy) Dugger of Centerville; Laura "Buffy" (Gary) Tindall of Olathe, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren, Betsy Pullen, Jason Pullen, Mike Pullen, Jr., Mark Erwin, Brandon Watters, Lisa Smith, Becky Lovell, Connie Girtman, Ben Endsley, Eric Endsley, Elliott Endsley, Paige Endsley, Tyler Dugger, Taylor Dugger, Will Tindall, Maggie Tindall, Jay Tindall; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Roland of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Watters; two brothers, Lee Pullen and Howard Pullen; and three sisters, Sarah McNeese, Thelma Woody, and Dot Doggett. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be Grover Black, Dr. Shawn Reed, Dr. Jim Marshall, Shannon Oman, Mary Etta London, George Endsley, Terry Chapman, Joe London, Elders, Deacons and members of Locust Street Church of Christ; and special friend and caregiver, Kim London.
