Edward Francis Schneider

Mr. Edward Francis Schneider, 89, retired restaurant manager and resident of Old Highway 99, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Life Care of Columbia. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date in Memorial Park in Skokie, Illinois. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are in charge of local arrangements. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Winnetka, Illinois, he was the son of the late George William Schneider and Hazel Filar Schneider. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a long-time member of the Gurnee, Illinois American Legion Post and Elks Lodge #2048 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Mr. Schneider was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Virginia Elizabeth "Betty" Schneider of Columbia; a daughter, Shelley K. (Carroll) Robinson of Columbia; three sons, Edward F. (Bonny) Schneider of Schaumburg, Illinois,, George W. (Kathleen) Schneider of Osprey, Florida and William T. (Sara) Henry of Indian Spring, Nevada; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.
