Mr. Edward Morris "Dude" Scribner, 85, retired self-employed carpenter and resident of Pulaski Pike, died Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Bob Vassar officiating. Burial will be in Scribner's Mill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Scribner and Lula Adams Scribner. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Coast Guard as Seaman 1st Class from 1942-1945. Mr. Scribner was a faithful member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church and the Men's One Sunday School Class. He is survived by a brother, Albert M. Scribner, Sr. of Columbia and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Active pallbearers are Byran Farris, Justin Farris, Allen Rogers, Tim Scribner, Brenton Rogers, and Dale Bub. Honorary pallbearers include members of Men's One Sunday School Class at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, Joe McCormack, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lamar, and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Joe Norman.
