EDWARD VLACH Mr. Edward Amselm Vlach, 66, former service station attendant, died Thursday, December 18, 2003, at his residence on Birchwood Drive. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2004, at Polk Memorial Gardens with Joe Rhodes officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The Chicago, Illinois, native was the son of the late Otto Edward Vlach and Rosette Spevia Vlach. He was married to Hester Ethel Powell Vlach who preceded him in death in 1992. He served in the U. S. Air Force. Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Ruth Franklin of Columbia; two sisters, Rose Marie Snyder Mills of Dallas, Texas; Kitty Snyder of Chicago, Illinois; three grandchildren, Michael A. Franklin, Charlene Hosick, and Charles Franklin, Jr.; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by stepson, Charles Franklin, Sr., and grandson, Christopher Wayne Franklin. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
