View Video Tribute Edwin Derryberry, 96, retired Forman for Union Carbide and resident of Columbia, died Monday, April 12, 2021 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. and Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born July 22, 1924 in Marshall County, he was the son of the late Cromer Derryberry and the late Lillian Crowe Derryberry. On December 22, 1951, he married Martha Sharp Derryberry who preceded him in death on September 12, 2011. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. Mr. Derryberry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. An avid sports fan, he coached youth baseball for several years and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Derryberry enjoyed his vegetable garden in his backyard. He was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include his sons, Kenny (Tammy) Derryberry of Eustis, Florida; Mark (Debbie) Derryberry of Columbia; grandchildren, Chase Saale of Pensacola, Florida; Amy (Zeke) Seabolt of Santa Fe; Ben Derryberry of Columbia; great grandchildren, Coby Jones, Gianna Penaloza, and Roman Saale all of Pensacola, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Cromer Derryberry; sisters, Regina Derryberry, Mable Warren, Rachel Gillis, and Margaret Reed. Active pallbearers will be Alfred Haywood, Bill Chaffin, Randy Warren, Larry Warren, and Zeke Seabolt.
