Edwina Jane Wells Fanning

Edwina Jane Wells Fanning, 71, retired employee of State of Tennessee Department of Education and resident of Cobblestone Drive, died Monday, October 2, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Muston officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born August 28, 1946 in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edward Lee Wells and the late Sarah Jane Woody Wells. For 10 years, she worked in the bakery at Wal-Mart in Franklin. Mrs. Fanning enjoyed life, people, cooking, and flowers. Her greatest joy in life was her granddaughter, Emily. She was a member of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Jane (Roger) Ragsdale of Santa Fe; and granddaughter, Emily Kate Ragsdale of Santa Fe. Active pallbearers will be Jack Jernigan, Jeff Woody, Jim Barnes, Mike Pfieffer, Bruce Odom, Jerry Shouse, Chester Ragsdale, and Kevin Connelly. Honorary pallbearers include Tommy Beard and employees of the State of Tennessee Department of Education.
