Mrs. Elaine JewellMrs. Margaret Elaine Mayberry Jewell, 86, wife of Walter B. Jewell, Sr. and resident of N. Hardin Drive, died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday at First Church of The Nazarene with Reverend Stephen Robertson and Reverend George Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. She taught Sunday School and was the president of the Nazarene World Mission Society (NWMS) at First Church of The Nazarene in Columbia. At the Hopinsville, Kentucky Church of The Nazarene, she was the pianist, NWMS president and served as state Chaplin of the Gideons International Auxilliary. In later years she devoted herself to the love of her family.Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Betty Elaine (Dr. William) Slonecker of Nashville; a son, Walter B. (Bernice) Jewell, Jr. of Columbia, a brother, Douglas Mayberry of Columbia; five grandchildren, William Gregory Slonecker, Susan Lyn Slonecker both of Nashville, Heather Renee (Wendell) Jewell Bowen, Holly Dawn (David) Jewell Barnett both of Columbia, Christopher Thomas (Meredith) Slonecker of Franklin; twelve great-grandchildren, Zachary Tyler Jewell, Brittany Nichole Barnett, Bejamin Ryan Iglesias, Kayla Danielle Barnett, Jonathan David Bowen, Randall Wayne Bowen, Justin Brent Bowne, Aliceson Allean Barnett, Steven Wayne Barnett all of Columbia, Mary Grace Slonecker, John William Slonecker, Meredith Caroline Slonecker all of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Walter Jewell, Jr., Wendell Bowen, David Barnett, Zachary Jewell, Greg Slonecker, Chris Slonecker, Timmy Owens, John Hartling and Benjamin Iglesias. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class at First Church of The Nazarene, Dr. John Simmons and Dr. John Maloof.
