View Funeral Webcast Elizabeth "Betsy" Blocker Anderson, 89, long-time resident of Mooresville Pike, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Curtis Dowdy and Rev. Bertie Llewellyn officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late R. J. Blocker and Margaret Burleson Blocker. Mrs. Anderson was a long-time member of Highland Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Nathan Anderson June 24, 1987. Survivors include three daughters, Jean (George) Vandiver of Lynnville, Helen Massey, and Sylvia (Robert) Cook of Columbia; a son, Raymond (Sarah) Anderson of Columbia; a brother, William Blocker of Nashville; a sister, Faye (Billy Ray) Jones of Columbia; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Myers; a brother, Otis Blocker; and a great-grandson. Active pallbearers are Jeff Vandiver, James Vandiver, Wayne Vandiver, Kerry Massey, Tim Henderson, Jeff Whitefield, Kevin Wyatt, Ken Loveless, and Keith Garrison. Honorary pallbearers include Karen Perry, Dr. Cummins Couch and staff of NHC Hillview.
