View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Elizabeth Anne Dodson Gibson, 91, homemaker and resident of Columbia, died Thursday, September 15, 2022 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Bobby McCord officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Born April 29, 1931 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Blonnie Wilkes Dodson and the late Aline McNeal Dodson. On April 10, 1954, she married Billy Shannon “Hoot” Gibson who preceded her in death March 18, 2010. She was a 1949 graduate of Columbia Central High School. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mrs. Gibson enjoyed being with her family and was an excellent cook. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Sidney Wilkes (Sandy) Gibson of Manchester; Robert Anthony (Melanie) Gibson of Culleoka; Bill (Dana) Gibson of Columbia; sisters, Lenora Hunter of Columbia; Elaine Amlin of Anderson, California; brothers, Wilkes Dodson, Jr. of Columbia; Dwight Dodson of Columbia; grandchildren, Christopher Wayne (Jodi) Gibson, Chadwick Scott Gibson, Adam Turner (Jessie) Gibson, Cody Odell (Brittany) Gibson, Robert Jonah (Mary) Gibson, Allison Grace Gibson, Candice Joy Gibson (Derrick) Carter; and 12 great grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Chris Gibson, Chad Gibson, Adam Gibson, Cody Gibson, Jonah Gibson, and David Dodson.
