View Funeral Webcast View Video Tribute Elizabeth Gail Kelly McCord, 78, homemaker, babysitter, and former longtime resident of Galloway Street, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Hubert Allen Kelly and the late Elizabeth Campbell Kelly. On January 3, 1954, she married Robert Phelps McCord, who preceded her in death February 6, 1995. Mrs. McCord was an avid reader and enjoyed writing stories, poems, and songs. She also enjoyed singing. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Joseph) Gurchiek of Shelby Township, MI and April Gail (Daniel) Ray of Columbia; sons, Robert Michael (Shonda) McCord of Santa Fe; Hubert Cleveland (Helen) McCord of Ethridge; Ralph William (Robin) McCord of Columbia; foster daughter, Terri Lynn Jett of Columbia; twenty-one grandchildren and step grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Allen Morgan Kelley. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will include Elders & Deacons of Highland Church of Christ and staff of NHC Hillview.
