Mrs. Ellean Vanderford Mrs. Ellean Davidson Vanderford, 82, resident of West 12th Street, died Friday, October 22, 2004, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Billy Felker and Dalton Cole officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Limestone County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Davidson and Vernelle Hasting Davidson. Mrs. Vanderford, known affectionately as "Granny", was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; and she loved gardening, quilting and attending church. She was a member of Lanton Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, O. L. Vanderford of Columbia; one daughter, Joyce (Jimmy) Calahan of Columbia; one son, Carl Glenn (Margie) Vanderford of Columbia; one brother, Wilburn Davidson of Columbia; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Adam) Mullinax, Jeremy (Amy) Vanderford, Lorrie (Rodney) Runions, all of Columbia; four great grandchildren, Chase Runions, Lauren Runions, Alexis Runions, Victoria Vanderford, all of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda K. Vanderford; two sisters, Virginia Pinkard and Bertha Bassham; and two brothers, James Davidson and Elvin Davidson. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Vanderford, Adam Mullinax, Rodney Runions, Dennis Turner, Kenneth Mullinax, and Elmer Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Lanton Church of Christ.
