Ellen Whitt Gardner

Mrs. Ellen Carol Whitt Gardner, 60, nursing lab tech instructor at Columbia State Community College, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at her residence on Lillian Circle. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kerry Couch officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The Louisville, Kentucky native was the daughter of Carolyn Clark Whitt of Port Charlotte, Florida and the late John Kelly Whitt. She was a member of the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Hoyt Devane Gardner, Jr. of Columbia; daughters, Courtney Gardner and Devan Gardner both of Columbia; four sisters, Cindy (Les) Bryant, Marsha (Pete) Robertson, Laura (John) Osborne all of Louisville, KY, Lynda (Greg) Merrill of Lexington, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
