Mrs. Eloise Lovell Cook, 89, retired housekeeper at Columbia Academy and former resident of West Seventh Street, died Monday, December 20, 2004, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4:00 P.M. and Thursday after 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home. She was married to Floyd Cook who preceded her in death. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include one sister, Cecile Brown of Franklin; three nephews, Scott Cooper of Columbia and Todd (Tammy) Cooper of Randolph, Mississippi, both of whom she reared; Chris (Betty) Cooper of Randolph, Mississippi; four nieces, Sarah (Derrick) Woeppel of Columbia; Teresa (Patrick) Pruess of Columbus, Ohio; Karen (John) Shotta of Foley, Alabama; June Cooper of Mississippi; and several great nieces and great nephews, including DeWayne Cooper and Ami Cooper, who considered her to be their grandmother. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sheila Sims. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday morning Bible Class.
