MR. ELWYN C. SMITH Mr. Elwyn Cooper Smith, 75, retired mechanic with the Maritime Marines in Great Lakes, Michigan, died Friday, June 13, 2003 at his residence in Pulaski. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dwain Brown officiating and military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Garber, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Rufus Oliver Smith and Kate Cooper Smith. During the Korean War he served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Nettie Sneed of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Anne Smith and two brothers, Randall Oliver Smith and Homer Dean Smith.
