Emma Claire Tolley

August 29, 1927 — September 10, 2005

Miss Emma Claire Tolley, 78, retired from Occidental Chemical Corporation and long-time resident of Hillcrest Avenue, died Sunday, September 11, 2005 at NHC Healthcare. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Spring Hill with The Reverend Robin Courtney officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 637, Spring Hill 37174 or Rose Hill Cemetery, P.O. Box 1015, Columbia 38402. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Columbia native was the daughter of the late Joseph William Tolley and Charlotte Hughes Tolley. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School, attended Bellhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi and was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Miss Tolley was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in Spring Hill and a member of the James K. Polk Memorial Association and Maury County Historical Society. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Robert E. Womack of Jackson, Mississippi; a niece and nephew, Kathy and Mike Morrison of Jackson, Mississippi and a cousin, Mark Tolley of Nashville. Pallbearers are Andrew Hunter, Wally Beasley, Jr., David I. Wise, Billy Booker, Mark Tolley and Mike Morrison.
