Era Dell Fannin Johnson, 77, long-time resident of the McCains Community, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Tony Brown and Rev. Eugene Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Johnson was a long-time member of Bigbyville United Methodist Church and active in the work of United Methodist Women. She was a 1949 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Harold Johnson of Columbia; daughters, Patricia (Jim) Young, Sandra (Glenn) Pierce, and Nancy (Joe) Hopper, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Tracy (Tad) Hickman, Michele (Jim) Adkins, Sarah (Geoff) Boyd of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Heather Harrison, Abigail Adkins, Chase Hickman, James Robert Adkins, and Ashton Hickman; sister, Linda (Adrian) Johnson of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Robbie Weatherford and Mildred Johnson of Columbia; brother-in-law, Wayne Lentz of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Lentz. Active pallbearers are Jim Boshears, Johnny Cothran, Rickey Johnson, Mike Lentz, Kenny Johnson, Ray Flowers, and Gary Weatherford.
