Ernest J Braswell

Ernest J. Braswell, 77, retired carpenter foreman and resident of Fifth Avenue, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren, Arkansas. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren, Arkansas. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of local announcements. The Sumter, Arkansas native was the son of the late Alvin Braswell and Maudie Wilson Braswell. On November 11, 1948, he married Betty Smith in Hermitage, Arkansas. He was a member of Northview Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Betty Smith Braswell of Columbia; two sons, LeRon (Barbara) Braswell of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Gary (JoEtta) Braswell of Columbia; three grandchildren, Laura (Michael) Yancey and Megan Braswell, both of Columbia; Christina (Mark) Olive of Murfreesboro; three great grandchildren, Chase Yancey, Bailey Olive, Blake Olive, step great grandchild, Myala Yancey; two sisters, Ruby Beasley of Sumter, Arkansas; Zelma Johnson of Pikeville, Kentucky; and one sister-in-law, Rose Braswell of Sumter, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Braswell of Sumter, Arkansas; and two brothers-in-law, Oral Johnson of Pikeville, Kentucky and Hugh Beasley of Sumter, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith, Jerry Don Smith, Billy P. Smith, Keith Allen Smith, Sam Smith, and Hugh Allen Beasley.
