Ernest Shelby Brown

Mr. Ernest Shelby "Pete" Brown, 72, retired dozier operator, farmer and resident of Culleoka Highway, died Sunday, September 12, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bill Richardson and Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will be in Wilkes Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late Everett Leighton Brown and Lillie Bell Oliver Brown. He was a member of the Culleoka Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years Willa Dean Henson Brown of Culleoka; two sons, Michael (Darlene) Isbell of Columbia, Norris Brown of Culleoka; two daughters, Lois (Evans) Underwood of Culleoka, Rhonda (Matt) Lavacot of Susanville, California; one brother, Earl C. (Geneva) Brown of Columbia; three sisters, Ruth Vick of Pulaski, Bernice Bratton and Mary (Howard) Mills both of Columbia; mother-in-law, Velma Clayton Henson of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Evan Underwood, Kevin Underwood, Misty Simmons, Natalie Hodge, Miriam Lavacot, Joseph Lavacot, Mary Brown, Joe Brown; four great-grandchildren, Baylee Simmons, Bethany Simmons, Tristan Underwood, Zoie Underwood; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Phil Burgett, Joey Victory and nephews.
