Ernest Carroll Hight, 65, Columbia electrician died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at his residence on Shawnee Drive. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. The Maury County native was son of the late Ernest Clemmons Hight and Lucille McNeece Hight. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. He worked a number of years as an electrician for Columbia Construction Company and Edenfield Electric Company and was a former member of Union Local 429. Survivors include his wife, Janice Faye Caruthers Hight of Columbia; daughters, Kimberley (Harry) Nace of Chapel Hill and Karen (Mick) McTigrit of Columbia; sons, Chris (Carey) Hight and Kevin (Paige) Hight, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Drew McTigrit, Zach Nace, Max Hight, Bryant Pratt, Gracen Hight, Katie Carol Nace, Mackay McTigrit, Graham McTigrit, Sarah Elizabeth Hight; sister, Joan Hight of Columbia; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Daphine and Gene Caruthers of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd "Buddy" Hight.
