Ernestine Church

Mrs. Ernestine Jacobs Church, 93, homemaker and longtime resident of Snow Creek Road in the Santa Fe Community, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Cleveland Jacobs and Pearl Fitzgerald Jacobs. She was married to John Mastin Church who preceded her in death on May 21, 1978. She was a member of Santa Fe United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Peggy (Walter A.) Dycus of Columbia; two grandchildren, Emily Dodson of Columbia; Dianne (Dee) Gordon of Hampshire; five great grandchildren, Kim (Robby) Curry, Kristin Dodson and Stacey Dodson, all of Columbia; Ashley (Kerby) Slaughter of Cookeville; Amber Gordon of Hampshire; two great great grandchildren, Kaileigh Dodson and Kaesen Curry, both of Columbia; and one nephew, Jack Willis of Columbia. Pallbearers will be Jack Willis, Edward Jacobs, David Rice, Dee Gordon, Robby Curry, and Jimmy Sowell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Santa Fe United Methodist Church Women's Missionary Society of which she was a member for over seventy years.
