View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Estelle Kelley Steward, 85, homemaker and longtime resident of Chestnut Ridge in the Santa Fe Community, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Johnson and Brother Tom Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Akin Ridge Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Washington Kelley and Mary Jane McCandless Kelley. On October 18, 1941 she married John Will Steward who preceded her in death on June 20, 2000. Mrs. Steward loved to cook, quilt and garden. She was a member of Elmore Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include four daughters, Esteleane (Cecil) Lewis of Savannah; Sarah (Ken) Mercer of Athens, Alabama; Tina (Billy) McKennon of Santa Fe; Darlene Jernigan of Columbia; three sons, John Walker (Almajean) Steward of Santa Fe; Byron (Vickie) Steward of Williamsport; Joe (Pam) Steward of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Eunice Westmoreland Steward of Water Valley and Patricia Kelley of Morton, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Bill Steward; five sisters, Evie Hunt, Isabell McDonald, Ophelia Kersh, Hazel Berryhill; Belva Eldridge; and four brothers, Eldridge "Pip" Kelley, Matt Kelley, Homer Kelley, and Hubert Lee Kelley. Pallbearers will be Airman First Class Will Cody Jernigan, John Mercer, R. T. Hunt, Cecil Hunt, Randy Hunt, and Bill Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be ladies at Elmore Church of the Nazarene.
