MRS. ESTHER CUMMINS Mrs. Esther Adams Cummins, 92, longtime resident of North Cherry Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, August 14, 2003, at Life Care Center. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with John Vaughan officiating. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Lewis R. and Sammie Lee Colvett Adams. She was married to Leslie Washington Cummins who preceded her in death on November 10, 1997. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Ruby Cummins Hill of Columbia; two granddaughters, Melody Frances Hill and Mila Michelle Hill, both of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Inez Adams of Mt. Pleasant; special friend, Tince Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Francis "Lefty" Hill, three brothers, and three sisters. Pallbearers will be Dory Adams, Willie Robb, Raymond Workman, Tim Brashears, R. L. Cummins, Eldon Cummins, James Fuller, Jim Powell, Austin Adams, Ronnie Brashears, and Eddie Harris.
