View Video Tribute Ethel Christine Dickey Emerson, passed away after 96 wonderful years. She was born May 12, 1926 in Giles County to Jess James Dickey and Edna Mai Chumley. She was the oldest of five children. She married A.D. (Dee) Emerson on May 9, 1946. They were married unitl his death in 1993. She had two sons, Thomas Edward Emerson and James Michael Emerson, both who preceded her in death. Her sisters, Mary Pearl Moore, Lela Mai Robinson, and Nadine Dick all of whom preceded her in death. Christine worked as a live in caretaker and she ran a daycare from her home. Christine loved to plant a garden and had a big flower garden every year. Christine is survived by her four granddaughters, Kristi Emerson, Kathi Michelle Thomason, Angie Emerson, and Tracy Gilmour, and one special niece, Linda Jean Jensen. She has three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Fuenral Home with her dear friend, Chaplain Mike Dodrill officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
