Mr. Eugene "Gene" Talbot Albertson, 81, retired Civil Service employee in Ft. Lee, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at his residence on Hemingway Dr. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Peninsula Memorial Cemetery in Newport News, Virginia. A native of Hampton, Virginia, he was the son of the late Fred J. Albertson and Odessa McKenney Albertson. He was married to Alma Patricia "Patsy" Tighe Albertson who preceded him in death on March 31, 1987. Mr. Albertson was a graduate of Newport News Public Schools and attended William & Mary College. He retired as Chief of Computer Systems for the Civil Service in Ft. Lee, Virginia. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Miller of Columbia; Lynn Albertson (James) Wellman of Pompano Beach, Florida; Amanda Albertson (Greg) Baker of Glen Allen, Virginia; six grandchildren, Blair Miller and Madison Miller, both of Columbia; Billy Miller of Murfreesboro; Ashley Wellman of Charlottesville, Virginia; Skylar Baker and David Baker, both of Glen Allen, Virginia; brother-in-law, Patrick Tighe of Williamsburg, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Maxine Albertson of Blacksburg, Virginia and Betty Sever of Newport News, Virginia; three nieces, Jeannie Fender of Radford, Virginia; Mary Harcum of Coinjock, North Carolina; Donna Tighe of Newport News, Virginia; two nephews, Michael Tighe of Richmond, Virginia; and David Tighe of Newport News, Virginia. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred W. Albertson and Wallace Albertson.
