Mr. Clifford Eugene "Gene" Hardison, 67, retired truck driver for Kroger Company and resident of Trousdale Ferry Pike in Lebanon, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at University Medical Center in Lebanon. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gardner and Deacon Price Keller officiating. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery in Chapel Hill with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4- 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was first married to Thelma Tomlin Hardison who died February 13, 1988. Mr. Hardison served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 15 in Lebanon. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed collecting NASCAR memorabilia. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Ann Haskell Simpson Hardison of Lebanon; one daughter, Daphne Hardison Brown of Lewisburg; two sons, Dean (Susan) Hardison of Spring Hill, Jeff (Billie) Hardison of Chestnut Mound; two sisters, Claudelene (Brad) Bialeck of Goodlessville, Helen Hardison of Columbia; two brothers, Ronnie (Janice) Hardison of Spring Hill, Larry Hardison of Lebanon; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ricky Harris, Clyde Harris, Teddy Peay, Tommy Peay, Allen Giles, Kevin Andrews, Kelly Andrews,and Keith Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Drivers Unlimited.
