Nona Eugenia Hardison Harmon, 94, former longtime resident of Blackburn Lane in the Bear Creek Community, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Waldrum and The Reverend Thomas S. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:30 - 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Reece Hardison and the late Naoma Brown Hardison. She was a 1940 graduate of Columbia Central High School. On April 12, 1941 she married Ulna Harmon, who preceded her in death January 25, 1998. Mrs. Harmon enjoyed quilting and growing flowers and vegetables. She was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Harmon (John) Cobb of Brentwood; Susan K. Harmon of Thompson's Station; sons, Dan U. (Joan) Harmon of Atlanta, Georgia; William Thomas "Tom" (Peggy) Harmon of Columbia; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Hardison of Columbia; grandchildren, Dana (Kelly) Hunter of Aiken, South Carolina; Julia (Florin) Grama of Atlanta, Georgia; Jason (Melissa) Cobb of Birmingham, Alabama; great grandchildren, Lewis Hunter, Lily Hunter, Alexandru Grama, Sebastian Grama, Julie Cobb, Logan Cobb; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gene D. Harmon; grandson, George Reese Harmon; sisters, Lottie Cheek, Lurleen Hurley, Brownie Attkisson; and brother, Harlan Hardison. Pallbearers will be Don Cheek, Hubert Cheek, Myron Cheek, Steve Attkisson, Tyler Brown, and Nicholas Harmon. The family expresses a special thank you for her excellent care at NHC Hillview.
