Eugenia Hindman Short

Eugenia Hindman Short, 93, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at her residence on McIntyre Drive in Columbia. A private family graveside service was held at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Billy Kimbrough officiating.  Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements. Born December 17, 1925 in Barren County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Hindman and the late Maggie Depp Hindman.  On October 26, 1944, she married Harold Douglas Short who preceded her in death October 4, 2009.  Mrs. Short was a member of First Family Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Thomas Douglas Short of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Wood Hindman, W. D. Hindman, Mary Elizabeth Smith, Virginia Thomas, and Margaret Mullins.
