Mrs. Eugenia Swafford Mrs. Eugenia Craft Swafford, 93, retired employee of Dixie Manufacturing and former longtime resident of Lynn Drive, died Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Williamson Medical Center. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ray Newell officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Anderson Craft and Sarah Rebecca Kilgoar Craft. On November 25, 1933, she married John O. Swafford who preceded her in death on May 26, 1992. Mrs. Swafford was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Ann Arnold of Columbia; one granddaughter, Donna (Mark) Gandee of Columbia; two grandsons, David (Becky) Arnold of Huntsville, Alabama; Mark (Jeanette) Arnold of Columbia; three great grandsons, Ryan Lindsey and Samuel Arnold, both of Columbia; and Rich Fitzgerald of Bradenton, Florida; one sister, Sarah Brewer of Clearwater, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia "Patty" Walters; one granddaughter, Dee Walters Fitzgerald; four brothers, and three sisters.
