Mrs. Eva Lucille Chappelear Barfield, 93, resident of Westfield Drive, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Music Funeral Home in Waycross, Georgia. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross. The family will visit with friends from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. The Franklin County, Georgia native was the daughter of the late John Benjamin Franklin Chappelear and Eva Lenora Sanders Chappelear. She was a former long-time resident of Waycross, GA. She was a retired financial secretary and bookkeeper and member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Her husband, the late William Franklin Barfield, was manager of the Waycross-Ware County Chamber of Commerce from 1952 until his death in 1957. Survivors include her daughter, Eva (Ed) Brooks of Columbia; one grandson, Clinton (Catherine) Brooks of Columbia; one granddaughter, Heather (Todd) Young of New Albany, Indiana; one great-grandson, Brandon Young of New Albany, IN; and one great-granddaughter, Bekah Young of New Albany, IN.
