Evelyn Jett Brewer

Evelyn Jett Brewer, 83, and resident of Columbia, died Friday, September 20, 2024 at Poplar Estates Assisted Living.

Evelyn's life was devoted to loving her Lord and her family. She and Bob Brewer shared over 30 years of happiness and service to others following their marriage in 1984. Their first decade together was in Theta, Tennessee, where Bob preached for the Theta Church of Christ and they raised Tennessee Walking Horses. Their next ten years or so were lived in Waco, Tennessee. In about 2013 Evelyn and Bob moved to Columbia, Tennessee, and there connected with the Graymere Church of Christ. The family appreciates the love and support of Graymere Church during Bob’s illness until his death in 2017 and their continuing kindnesses to Evelyn as her health declined. 

 Evelyn Faye Jett was born May 21, 1941, to William Edward Jett and Mary Evelyn Knowles Jett. She is survived by sons Richard Myers and Dwight Myers; sisters Barbara Griggs and Doris Bussell; brother David Jett, and loving Aunt Thelma Rush. She is preceded in death by a brother, Charles.

The family would like to thank Poplar Estates Assisted Living for their loving care during Evelyn's final year on earth. Visitation 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, September 30 at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home followed by graveside service at 3:00 PM at Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville led by Andrew Phillips.
