MRS. EVELYN GIBSON HALL BYRD Mrs. Evelyn Gibson Hall Byrd, 83, retired supervisor for Weather Tamer and resident of Riverside Drive, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Augusta County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Raymond Gibson and Rose Bellerose Gibson. Her first husband, John Emmitt Hall, died October 25, 1970. In April 1976 she married William J. Byrd who died December 21, 1999. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Muriel and David Warren and Jacqueline and Glenn Johnson, all of Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law, John Raymond and Lynn Hall of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Kenneth Moore of Lexington, Virginia; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are James Bozeman, Jim Beecham, Dwayne Carter, Christopher Garrett, Cheyenne Craig, and Jerry Holcomb.
