Evelyn Davis Franklin

Mrs. Evelyn Davis Franklin, 87, resident of Columbia, died Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with The Rev. Thomas S. Wilson officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 3- 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 2:30p.m. EST at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida with visitation from 12noon until 2 p.m. at Hardage-Giddons Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd. in Jacksonville. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Beauregard Parish, Louisiana native was the daughter of the late Ira Davis and Bird Ing Davis. She was married to Barney Franklin who preceded her in death. Mrs. Franklin was a homemaker and member of Church Our Savior Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, Florida where she was involved in numerous activities. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ken (Carrie) Lanyon of Columbia and Charles Davis (Betty) Coleman of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
