MRS. EVELYN MINOR Mrs. Evelyn Long Minor, 82, widow of Herman E. Minor, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at her residence on the Nashville Highway. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. E.C. McKinley officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Thacker Long and Jessie Craig Long. She was a retired employee of Maury Manufacturing and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include one niece, Mary Elizabeth Oyler of Reseda, California and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Olivia Long Oyler, two brothers, Wallace Long and E.T. Long, Jr. and two nephews, Wally Oyler and William Cowden Shaw, Jr. Pallbearers will be Lee Bailey, Chuck Bailey, Billy Ray King, George Davis, Sam Fuller and Louis Dunn, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Davis, Alton Bradley, C.W. Turner, Glenn Stevenson.
