Mrs. Evelyn Kathleen "Khaki" Richardson, 85, retired teacher, died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. On June 28, 1941 she married Louis Wade Richardson who preceded her in death on September 7, 1996. She was a graduate of David Lipscomb College and Trevecca College where she earned a B.A. in education. She taught in Maury County public schools for thirty-five years. Mrs. Richardson was a charter member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Kay Lowry Richardson (Gary) Oliver of Columbia; one granddaughter, Jenny Simmons of Brentwood; two grandsons, Richie (Leslie) Simmons and Chris Oliver both of Nashville; and one brother, John R. (Linnie) Lowry of Smyrna, Georgia. Pallbearers will be Joel Oswalt, Turner Matthews, Ltc. Mike Gilchrist, Ltc. Bob Hardison, Jerry White, Charlie Paul, Tony Stone, Harold Stone and Jim Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. and Mrs. Tom Duncan, Mrs. Marie Oswalt, Mrs. Daisy Martin Ralston, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Matthews, Ltc. Robert Simmons, Ltc. Richard Simmons, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ussery, members of the Ladies Professional Sunday School Class, and close neighbors.
