MRS. EVELYN ROOKER Mrs. Evelyn Elizabeth Hefley Rooker, 87, resident of West Eleventh Street, died Friday, September 12, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor David Gleyze and Rev. Russell Ward officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Coleman Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Society, c/o Martha McKennon, P. O. Box 1148, Columbia, TN 38402. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Gibson County native was the daughter of the late George P. Hefley and Ada Pate Hefley. She was married to Jefferson D. Rooker who preceded her in death on April 18, 1996. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Roland R. Rooker of Columbia; Jerry Wayne (Jan) Rooker of Lynnville; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Hall of Jasper; three grandchildren, Chris (Dianna) Rooker, Lisa (Jeff) Hill, and Angela (Christopher) Chambers; eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
