Ewing Neelley "Neel" Frakes

Mr. Ewing Neelley "Neel" Frakes, 73, retired state employee for the Department of Human Services and resident of Hillcrest Avenue, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at Life Care Center of Columbia. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 3:30 P.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Houston Parks officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. He was a 1961 graduate of Columbia Central High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in Science from Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Frakes was an avid golfer and pool player. Survivors include his son Jason Neelley (Suzanne) Frakes of Murfreesboro; sister, Martha (Stuart "Butch") Schulz of Columbia; grandchildren, Chloe Frakes and Austin Frakes; one niece; two nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and several cousins
