Mrs. Flora Jewel Burdette Harris, 77, homemaker and widow of William P. "Stumpy" Harris, Sr., died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Life Care of Columbia, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Ridouts Brown-Service Chapel in Prattville, Alabama. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 Noon Friday to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prattville Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A native of Verbena, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Barney B. Burdette and Maggie Jones Burdette. She was a member of Prattville First Baptist Church. While making her home in Columbia, she was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Tune of Columbia; sons, William P. Harris, Jr. and Robert L. Harris of Columbia; grandson, Bucky Harris of Williamsport, Tennessee; sisters, Virginia Jones of Verbena, Alabama and Doris Stephens of South Houston, Texas; brother, Buel (Minnie Mae)Burdette of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Hazel Harris of Columbia, Delena Harris of Seligman, Missouri, Jeanette Jessup, and Melba Burdette of Prattville, Alabama; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jones and brothers, Cleveland Burdette and Duel Burdette.
