Florence Virginia Burge Hickman

Florence Virginia Burge Hickman, 80, retired private caregiver and resident of Lynnville, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 12:00 P.M. at Gibsonville Cemetery with Reverend Chris Blalock officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Gibsonville Cemetery, 1148 Parrish Hollow Road, Lynnville, TN 38472. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 16, 1941 in Williamson County, she was the daughter of the late Newman Lawson Burge and the late Violo Sweeney Burge. On December 25, 1960, she married Rayburn Jerry Hickman who preceded her in death December 6, 2017. Mrs. Hickman was a loving mother, grandmother, and extremely loving caregiver. She was a member of Lynnville United Methodist Church. Survivors include her sons, Mickey (Deidra) Hickman of Lynnville; Dewayne Terry (Tina) Hickman of Lynnville; Randall Lee (Brittney) Hickman of Lynnville; sisters, Lanelle Roberts of Lewisburg; Patricia Burge Ambrose of Lynnville; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eleven brothers and sisters. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. The family would like to express a special thanks to Ommie Gibson, Kerri Burge, nurses and staff of Maury Regional Medical Center ICU Stepdown, and Caris Hospice for their care and love shown to Mrs. Hickman.
