Mrs. Florence Chapman Daniels Wells, 89, retired press operator for Publix Manufacturing Company for 25 years, died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at her residence on the Mooresville Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Billy Kimbrough officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter "Bud" Chapman and Rosie Mae Brown Chapman. She was a member of the Mooresville Pike Church of Christ. Her first husband, Jesse Lee Daniels, died July 15, 1946. She later married Robert Taylor Wells who died September 8, 1972. Survivors include 3 daughters, Mary Alice Ingram of Columbia, Kathleen "Kat" (Norman Wayne) Davis of Sandy Hook and Shirley Adams of Columbia; a son, John Robert (Shirley) Daniels of Columbia; 2 sisters, Cordie Bell Hickman of Lewisburg and Lacy Kerrigan of Nashville; a daughter-in-law, Mary Frances Daniels Hickman of Columbia; a son-in-law, Ernest "Hop" Dale of Columbia; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren;9 great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Ellen Shephard and Thelma Kirtley Barron of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Faye Daniels Dale; a grandson, Timothy Ray Dale; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Reese; a sister, Ida Wells; 7 brothers, Willie Chapman, Russell Chapman, Clifford Chapman, Raymond Chapman, Calvin Chapman, Houston Chapman and Lee Chapman; 2 sons-in-law, Amel Ingram and Polk Adams. Pallbearers are Jimmy Daniels, Wayne Ingram, Robert L. Daniels, Steve Giles, Jeff Dale and Wayne Scott. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
