Denise Pantall Hooten, 67, retired from General Motors and a resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 10, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Phil Pantall officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Denise was born on May 26, 1957 in Maury County to the late Ray Evan Pantall and the late Doris Virginia Shelton Pipkin. She was active in the United Auto Workers, loved going to Tunica and on other sister trips, going to watch her grandchildren play their sports and other activities. Denise loved being outside and was a very kind and loving person that never met a stranger.
Survivors include her daughters, Angela “Angel” Hooten of Columbia and Stephanie (Chris) Hamm of Culleoka; grandchildren, Jaden Hamm (Amelia Carnahan) and Ryleigh Hamm both of Culleoka; sisters, Pat (Tom) Pantall of Sevierville, TN, Sandra Womble of Ethridge and Nancy (Marijan) Perko of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Hal Pantall; and her beloved cat Sassy Girl.
Pallbearers will be Chris Hamm, Jaden Hamm, Brent Carpenter, Phil Pantall, Shelton Reyes, and Caleb Diggs.
