Mrs. Frances Mayberry "MaMa" Davis was born October 1, 1914 to the late Wallace Childress and Kate McMeen Mayberry and passed away at Maury Regional Hospital Wednesday, November 14, 2007. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Harvel Stockard and Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will be in Knob Creek Cemetery adjacent to their farm. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Knob Creek Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Tim Fitzgerald, 1209 Hunters Point Lane, Spring Hill, TN 37174 or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 105 Westpark Dr., Suite 415, Brentwood, TN 37027. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mrs. Davis grew up on the Old Williamsport Pike in Columbia and attended McDowell School. She was a homemaker and resident of the Knob Creek Community. She enjoyed community-wide events, antiques and was an avid china painter. She was a member of the Knob Creek Baptist Church since March 3, 1951 and loved going to church where she taught the Primary Sunday School Class. Her love for God, family and friends was well known by her actions and deeds. Mrs. Davis was a Christian of great faith and also an inspiration to her family. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, John Elwood (J.E.) Davis of Columbia; one son, John L. (Kay) Davis of Columbia; two daughters, Carol (Jerry) Walters and Barbara (Charles) Keltner both of Columbia; six grandchildren who will always keep her in their hearts as "MaMa", Sammy (Tammy) Walters, Michael (Dana) Walters, Monica (Scott) Elias, Johnifer (Michael) King all of Columbia, Deric William Keltner and Kimberly (Phillip) Pullen both of Spring Hill; nine great-grandchildren, Tori Elias, Sophie Elias, John Michael King, Rachel King, Ryan Walters, Katie Walters, Jonathan Walters, Blake Walters and Tyler Pullen; one sister, Dorothy Roberts of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Ab Mayberry, Wallace C. Mayberry, Jr. and a sister, Mildred Mayberry Hutcherson. Pallbearers will be Sammy Walters, Deric William Keltner, Michael Walters, Scott Elias, Michael King, Phillip Pullen, Tommy R. Mayberry and Donald C. Mayberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Eldridge McMeen, Frank McMeen, Daryl Compton, Joe Roberson, Mason Turner, Charles and Betty Turner, David Howell, David and Elizabeth Hartman, Tony and Paulette Isabell, J.W. and Patricia Hargrove, members of the Knob Creek Baptist Church and Community, Knob Creek Baptist Adult Women's Sunday School Class, China Painting Class of Nashville, Dr. Doug Kennedy, Dr. John Maloof, III, and Kathy Jo Wilson, Deborah Carnell and Miranda Ray of Caris Healthcare.
