View Video Tribute Frances Elizabeth Adams Scribner, 87, homemaker and resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Andrew Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Born December 23, 1933 in Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late John Allen Adams and the late Irene Johnson Adams. On June 30, 1951, she married Charlie Joseph Scribner, Sr. who preceded her in death April 30, 1982. Mrs. Scribner enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center, playing rook, and growing a flower garden. She was a member of Halls Chapel Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Scribner (Dodson) Cann of Pensacola, Florida; son, Michael Ray (Patricia) Scribner of Culleoka; sister, Effie Ward of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Stephanie Foster, Steven Orr, Jr., Kyle (Kayla) Scribner, Madison Scribner, Nathan Scribner; three great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Dawn Scribner. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Joseph Scribner, Jr. who died April 5, 2008; sister, Virginia Holbert; and brothers, James Adams, Johnny Adams, and J.B. Adams, Active pallbearers will be Jamie Capley, Barry Holbert, Vance Capley, Steven Capley, Tim Gore, and Jeff Stewart.
