Mrs. Frances Allene Spoon Snider, 67, homemaker and former longtime resident of Westover Drive, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Perry County Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Baker officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 12 noon Friday at Arrington's Chapel Cemetery in Cherokee County, Alabama. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Piedmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Luther Spoon and Ada Johnson Spoon. She was married to Jack Donald Snider who preceded her in death on March 31, 2001. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Randy (Becky) VanGorder of Atlanta, Georgia; Rick VanGorder of Lawton, Oklahoma; Robert (Michelle) VanGorder of Mt. Pleasant; James Snider of Columbia; two sisters, Lorene Hindmon of Cedartown, Georgia; Barbara Brock of Center, Alabama; two brothers, Ed Spoon and Ralph Spoon both of Piedmont, Alabama; nine grandchildren, Melissa VanGorder, Randy VanGorder, Jr., Alisha VanGorder, Steven Trevino, Cameron Snider, Justin Snider, Dylan Snider, Jarred Phy, Brianna Phy; two great grandchildren, Randy Eugene VanGorder, III and Anna Elizabeth VanGorder; several nieces and nephews, first cousins, Donna Baxter, Kathy Floyd, Tammy Brock, Michael Brock; and close friends, Don Dollar and Tina Guy. She was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Spoon.
