Mr. Frank Clayton Hood, 92, retired employee of TVA, farmer and resident of Tindell Lane, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Craft Memorial United Methodist Church, 907 Hatcher Lane, Columbia, TN 34801. He was first married to Gladys Ferguson Hood who preceded him in death in 1970. He was a graduate of Harpeth High School in Williamson County and served in the U. S. Navy Seabees during World War II. Mr. Hood was a former President of National Farmers Organization of Maury County and was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the American Legion, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Alette Hood Hood of Columbia; one daughter Jo Ann Hood of Nashville; one son, John C. (Diane) Hood of Hendersonville; one stepson, Archie L. (Diane) Steen, Jr. of Columbia; one brother, G. O. Hood of Franklin; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris Hood and Medford Hood; and one step brother, Gerald "Coosy" Jennette. Pallbearers will be Bobby Harris, Ocial Sharpton, Gary Bass, Loyd Huckaby, Jack Craig, Howard Alexander, John McIntyre, and Leroy Gibson.
