Frank Wesley Marchand, Jr., 93, retired owner and operator of Glendale Market, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his residence on Fountain Heights Road. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Mount Cemetery with Eddie Rogers officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Born October 29, 1924 in Birmingham, Alabama he was the son of the late Frank Wesley Marchand, Sr. and the late Dessa Osborne Marchand. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps, and then transitioned into the United States Air Force when it was created in 1947. In 1984, he retired from Air Force Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. For 20 years, Mr. Marchand, worked for the United States Post Office and retired as a Rural Mail Carrier. Survivors include his sister, Jestine Morris and family of Arizona; brother, James Marchand and family of Illinois; and cousins, Suzanne Cathey Kay and family of Nashville; Deborah Cathey Stein and family of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Charles H. Cathey and family of Nashville; and Wilma Cathey. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to express a special thanks to Andy “Kelsey” and Sue North for their friendship and devotion to Frank.
