FRANK WILLIAMSONMr. Frankie Lee "Frank" Williamson, 72, retired employee of Monsanto Chemical Company and resident of East 18th Street, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Charles Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.comThe Giles County native was the son of the late M.B. "Brown" Williamson and Lacy Thurman Williamson. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Barnett "Dene" Williamson of Columbia; one son, Mitch Williamson of Columbia; one brother, Billy Williamson of Columbia; two sisters, Melba Floyd and Betty Ferguson both of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Catherine Williamson of Michigan; one special nephew, Billy Bob; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by one sister, Brownie Brunson and three brothers, James Brown Williamson, Joe B. Williamson and Harold Dean Williamson.Pallbearers will be Billy Allen Floyd, Jimmy Lynn Floyd, Phil Floyd, Ricky Floyd, Marty Williamson, Lane Davis, Tyler Floyd and Edwin Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be John Hall and family, retired employees of Monsanto Chemical Company, doctors and staff of Columbia Oncology, the staff of Maury Regional Hospital and the staff of Life Care Center.
