FRED SHOUSE James Fred Shouse, 77, retired steel worker and resident of Steven Court, died Friday, December 13, 2002, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Newell and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late James Washington Shouse and Mary Bessie Widmore Shouse. He was a member of the Water Valley Church of Christ and the United Steelworkers Union. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Daniels Shouse of Columbia; three sons, Dennis (Barbara) Shouse of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Bill (Theresa) Shouse and Greg (Janie) Shouse, both of Columbia; five sisters, Mrs. Wilma Stanfill of Fly Community; Mrs. Mary (R. B.) Potts of Hilltown Community; Mrs. Margaret (Millard) Maxwell of Santa Fe; Mrs. Elizabeth (Bill) Brunson and Mrs. Pauline Andrews, both of Columbia; brother-in-law, William Neal Daniels of Taylor, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Eric (Trina Cole) Shouse, Matt Shouse, Mrs. Nikki (Brian) Hay, Mrs. Shea (Marc) Payne, Mrs. Jennifer (Chris) Cravens, Mrs. Jessica (Tony) Harris, Mrs. Laura Isbell; four great grandchildren, Shelby Hay, Sydney Hay, Allye Leland, and Kaytlyn Owens. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Oakley and Genevieve Hill; and two brothers, Raleigh Shouse and Van Buren "Buster" Shouse. Pallbearers will be Guy Potts, Gary Maxwell, Dwight "Booty" Maxwell, Dwain Andrews, Kenneth Brunson, John "Bubba" Stanfill, Ernie Culberson, and Randy Maxwell.
