View Funeral WebcastMr. Freddie Robert Hood, 57, employee of Durr Construction, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at his residence on Zion Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeff Foster and Fr. Clare Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 7:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The Maury County native was the son of Margaret Love Hood of Columbia and the late Buford Fred Hood. He served in the U.S. Military during Vietnam. On July 16, 1986 he married Hope Bernhart Hood of Columbia who survives him. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Hood is survived by a daughter, Tammy (David) Fuller of Columbia; brother, Larry Hood of Columbia; sister, Paulette (Dwight) Shouse of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandsons, Clint Kelley and Patrick Kelley both of Columbia; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kim Lacroix; and a very special sister-in-law, Beverly Wilson. He was preceded in death by a brother Howard Hood in 1995 and a sister, Linda Lacroix in 2006. Pallbearers include Clint Kelley, Patrick Kelley, David Fuller, Russ Stief, Peter Bernhart, John Bernhart, John Waldrum, Ronnie Baxter and Dwight Shouse.
