View Video TributeC. Gary Moss, 80, retired employee of Occidental Chemical Company, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his residence on Oak Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brian Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Cecil O'Grady Moss and Nina Boulton Moss. He was a 1951 graduate of Columbia Central High School and earned his Associates Degree from Arkansas Junior College where he was a member of the football team. Mr. Moss served in the 101st Airborne Division of the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife whom he married July 26, 1985, Elizabeth "Libby" Derryberry Moss of Columbia; children, Bill (Sheila) Thrasher, Laura (Mike) Parks, and Lisa (Jason) Kelley, all of Culleoka; and grandchildren, Jordan Thrasher, Jacy Thrasher, Craig Parks, Cooper Parks, Andee Kelley, and Molly Kelley. Pallbearers will be members of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.
