Gay Celeste Humphrey Corlew, 64, former business manager for James Corlew Chevrolet/Cadillac in Clarksville, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her residence in the Dover Community in Stewart County. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with family members officiating. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at Santa Fe Cemetery. Born in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Laurence Burnis Humphrey and Mary Juanita Rountree Humphrey and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Corlew was an artist, nature enthusiast, gardener and loved to read. Survivors include her son, James (Marcine) Corlew, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama; sisters, Erabelle Joy (Richard) Gwin of Lexington, Kentucky, Juanita Dawn (Thomas) Phelps of Miltonvale, Kansas, Iris Hope (Paul) Olson of Davenport, Florida, Joan Diane Humphrey of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Mary Anne (Wilton) Cherry of Dover; brother, Gary Burnis Humphrey of Bison, Kansas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Serving as pallbearers are Gary Humphrey, Harry Rountree, Jimmy Humphrey, Randel Humphrey, Craig Humphrey, Tommy Humphrey, Joan Humphrey, and Hope Olson.
